	MINISTER & NSWLGA CONFIRM COUNCIL'S "DUTY OF CARE"

Dear General Manager - as you are aware from our correspondence from 
May 2007 and meetings in Sep and Nov 2007, the parents involved with 
"Kids Safe-at-Sport - SHOROC" has identified 6 major causes for concern 
in the Child Protection issue including a Council's Duty of Care 
Responsibility.

The Legal Advice that we have received is that the letters from the
NSW Minister for Sport 27 Nov 2007 and the NSW Local Government 
Association 06 Nov 2007 confirm that the Council NOT the NSW State 
Government has the Duty of Care Responsibility for the Child Protection
in Sport issue
