		MOSMAN SUSTAINABILITY ACTION NETWORK

	CALL FOR CANDIDATES - 6.30-8.00 pm Mon 11 Aug 2008

Dear Resident

A number of Mosman Residents have formed the Mosman Sustainability Action
Network (SAN) for Local Government Elections.

The Principal Objective of the Mosman SAN is to implement a strategy to 
reduce Mosman Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 50% within the next 4 yrs.

This objective will be achieved by replicating the initiatives of Woking 
Borough Council which reduced the Woking Council's Greenhouse Gas 
Emissions by over 70% with a Decentralised Energy Policy.

In addition Woking Council reduced its Energy Consumption by 43.8% AND 
saved the Energy and Water Budgets by 34.3%.

(3) for the pending Mosman Local Government election on 13 Sep 2008.

19:00 - 19:20	Discuss proposed Mosman Sustainability Plan

		1 	4 year outline strategy 
		2 	Identify suitable decentralised energy group
		3 	Community Awareness/Education Program
		4 	Community Performance Indicators

19:30 - 19:40	Local Councillor Sponsorship Rules

19:40 - 19:50	Nominations as SAN Official Agent for donations

19:50 - 20:00	Confirm candidates for 3 Mosman wards

All candidates have to be registered with the NSW Election Board
by 12:00 Wed 13 Aug 2008.

The Election date is Sat 13 Sep 2008

There will be a 4-week timetable for assistance on the hustings
